[November 26 - December 2, 2008] A lively narration on 20th century music featuring films and live music by influential composers Moving images of music – and the people behind the music The second part of the "Dialogs“ program (Nov. 28 – Dec. 2, 2008) will focus on composers and their music in five "documentary concerts“. The Dutch filmmaker, Frank Scheffer, used cinematographic devices to scrutinize the mindscape of the century's leading composers since the early 1980s, accompanying some of them over the years. Contemporary music was documented in a comprehensive collection of unique film material that forms the basis for the five "documentary concerts" specially developed for "Dialogs“: a lively narration on 20th century music featuring films and live-music by composers who decisively influenced the history of music in the 20th century: Gustav Mahler, Arnold SchГ¶nberg, Elliott Carter, Edgard VarГЁse, John Cage and others.
