Salzburg Museum - New Residence

[Nov 20, 2008 – Jan 11, 2009] Joseph' Mohr's autograph will be shown for the first time at a Christmas exhibition commemorating the 190th anniversary of "Silent Night"Christmas exhibitions with the original Silent Night manuscript and Salzburg mangers Both the public and experts alike were thrilled when Joseph Mohr's only preserved handwritten manuscript of "Silent Night," the world-famous Christmas carol, was discovered in 1995. The autograph was privately owned and not available to the public up to that time. Now the unique exhibit belongs to the Salzburg Museum. On the occasion of the 190th "Silent Night" anniversary  – the carol was first performed in 1818 – the Salzburg Museum will present Joseph Mohr's autograph for the first time during a Christmas exhibition starting November 20, 2008 (Salzburg Museum, New Residence, SГ¤ulenhalle). The Panorama Museum will also show a series of Salzburg mangers from its extensive folklore collection, carrying visitors off to a world of Christmas.
